A much shorter email today - I was a guest on Mike Julian’s Real World DevOps, where he digs into the messy, behind-the-scenes realities of running systems.

We talked about how compliance and risk management gets a bad reputation in engineering circles: there’s the “it’s just unnecessary overhead!” camp and also the “risk management is just the Department of No” camp.
